Adults can be defined as animals or human beings who have completed their development. Within the human realm, adult refers to the social and legal aspects. In contrast to "minor" (or "non-adult" an legal adult is a person who is a the age of majority. They are thought to be responsible, independent and capable. Also known as "majors" They can also be considered to have reached the age of adulthood. The age for achieving legal adulthood is 18, although definition may vary by laws, countries, and psychological development.

If a person attains full physical and intellectual maturity this is called adulthood. Adulthood, as it is generally understood, begins at the age of either 20 or 21. In general, middle age begins around 40 years of age, and is and is followed by about 60. As we grow older, there are three distinct phases early adulthood (18-30 years) and Middle Adulthood (30-60 year olds) and Late adulthood (60%-60 60%). By the time we reach an early age (20 to the early 40s) our physical growth is completed, though our height and weight could increase a bit. Physical capabilities peak when we are young adults. This is reflected in muscle strength in addition to reflex time, the sensitivities, and functioning of the heart.
